The National Skill Development Corporation India (NSDC) was set up as a one of its kind, public-private partnership organization with the Primary mandate of catalyzing the skills landscape in India. ASTM is providing the NSDC approved courses to students across India in centers established by ASTM to hone the skill sets of the next generation of youth in the country and mould them into employable resources for companies. The courses are specifically designed by educational experts in order to nurture the student's vocational skills and technical abilities. These training courses are provided in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi/NCR, Bangalore, Patna, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Ranchi, Lucknow, Bhopal, Indore, and Kanpur regions to name a few. ASTM's goal for its students is to give them the best-in-class training as per quality guidelines and best practices prescribed by NSDC, which will in turn make them potentially vital assets for the companies that hire them later.
NSDC is a uniquely created model with a well-thought plan through an underlying philosophy based on the following pillars:
Proactively nurture the creation of large, quality vocational training institutions.
Reduce risk by providing capital. It includes grants and equity.
The Creation and sustainability of support systems needed for skill development. It includes the industry led Sectors skill councils.
Objectives of the NSDC
Upgrade skills to international standards for significant industry involvement and develop necessary frameworks for standards, curriculum, and quality assurance.
Coordinate private sector initiatives for skill development in appropriate public-private partnership(PPP) models aim for significant operational and financial responsibility for the private sector.
Play the role of a "market-maker" by bringing financing, particularly in areas where market mechanisms are ineffective or missing
Prioritize actions that can have a multiplier or catalytic impact as opposed to the one-off result.
NSDC operates through partnerships with various stakeholders in nurturing and evolving the skill ecosystem. ASTM Skills Pvt. Ltd. is one of its approved partners actively and aggressively pursuing the achievement of NSDC’s objectives.
In addition to this, ASTM is also affiliated with Security Sector Skills Development Council(SSSDC), Electronic Sector Skills Development Council of India(ESSCI) and Retail Association Skills Council of India(RASCI).
